by UW Athletics Media RelationsThe University of Wyoming athletics department will kick off an innovative campaign Friday that will enable fans a chance to show their support for UW athletics by becoming a part of the Wyoming Athletics Legacy Wall.
The Legacy Wall will consist of personalized pavers that will be prominently displayed on the outside of the renovated War Memorial Stadium’s east side. The Wyoming Athletics Legacy Wall will be constructed as part of the University of Wyoming War Memorial Stadium premium seating and concourse improvement project. The pavers may be purchased is sizes ranging from 4”x 8” to 16”x16” and will range in price from $100 to $1,500.
“We are excited to offer our fans this unique way to show their support for Wyoming athletics,” said Josh Rebholz, UW Associate Athletics Director for Development. “Whether fans want to purchase a paver to express their support for the Cowboys and Cowgirls, or whether they want to recognize someone special to them. The Legacy Wall will be a permanent tribute to those who have provided so much support to UW athletics in the past, present and future.”
Fans can choose to purchase Legacy Wall pavers for themselves, family members, friends, businesses or in memory of someone special to them with a unique message engraved on each paver. Purchase a paver as a holiday gift, birthday gift or for that new UW graduate.
Commemorate a special event in your life or in Wyoming history -- a youth sports team or an organization. You can even pay tribute to your favorite Wyoming Cowboy, Cowgirl or memory. All proceeds from the Wyoming Athletics Legacy Wall Campaign will go to support student-athlete scholarships and resources.
With each paver purchase, fans will have the option to purchase an additional identical replica paver to proudly display in their home or office, or to give as a gift to the person they honored. The replica will be made of the same material as those at War Memorial Stadium. It will include the same message inscription, plus a small plaque commemorating their contribution to the Wyoming Athletics Legacy Wall Campaign. Special display cases are also available for purchase, and make a great way to display the replica pavers. Fans will also receive an official certificate of acknowledgement bearing their inscription. These certificates will be individually numbered. After installation, a paver locator map will be provided to help fans find their paver on the Wyoming Athletics Legacy Wall.
If you are buying the paver for someone else and aren’t sure what message to engrave on it, you may purchase a Wyoming Athletics Legacy Wall Gift Certificate and allow the individual you purchased the paver for decide on his or her message.
