For the third time this season, University of Wyoming diver Tyler Miller was named Mountain West Conference diver of the week on the men’s side. Freshman Marshall Dilworth earned men’s MWC swimmer of the week award.
Tyler Miller, a senior from Greeley, Colo., won three of four diving events over the weekend. He won both of the springboard events at Utah, scoring 309.60 points on the 1-meter and 320.93 on the 3-meter. Miller also won the 1-meter springboard at BYU after posting a personal-best score of 329.78.
Dilworth, a native of Peoria, Ariz., won six individual events and two relays in meets at Utah and BYU. On Friday, he finished first against Utah in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.77 seconds), as well as in the 200-yard backstroke (1:53.14) and 200-yard individual medley (1:56.60). He also swam the lead-off leg for Wyoming’s 200-yard medley relay that won in 1:33.62. On Saturday, Dilworth won the 100 back in 50.88, 200 back in 1:51.52, and 200 IM in 1:54.91. He also led-off the 200-medley relay that won in 1:32.64 to help the Pokes capture their first dual meet victory over BYU in 21 years.
BYU’s sophomore Aleesha Miller earned women’s swimmer of the week honors, while teammate Ava Jackman and TCU’s Jennifer Ferguson were co-divers of the week on the women’s side.
