Wyoming senior Amanda Lathrop was named to the Mountain West Conference First Team All-Conference on Tuesday. Lathrop was a Second Team All-Conference selection last season. She led the Cowgirls in goals, assists and shots this season.

"Amanda is very deserving of this honor. I am very pleased that the other coaches in the conference recognized her talents and that she is well deserving of being First Team All-Conference," said UW head coach Danny Sanchez.

Lathrop set career and single season records in her four years as a Cowgirl. She is the all-time career leader in assists with 15, and second in career goals, points, and shots. Earlier in the season Lathrop set the single season assists record with eight, and is second in single season points with 24. Lathrop started in every game in her UW career.

"Amanda re-wrote the record books and will go down as one of the greatest players in Wyoming history," Sanchez said.

Senior forward Katie Larkin of BYU garnered MWC Offensive Player of the Year honors, while BYU junior defender Andrea Willis earned the MWC Defensive Player of the Year award. TCU's Jordan Calhoun was tabbed MWC Freshman of the Year, and BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood collected MWC Coach of the Year accolades for the second time at the helm of the program. BYU won its fifth regular-season women's soccer championship this year.

Seven different institutions were represented on the all-MWC first team. BYU had four players named to the all-MWC first team, while Utah had two first-team honorees. Wyoming, New Mexico, San Diego State, TCU and UNLV each had one student-athlete honored.

Larkin was tabbed as MWC Offensive Player of the Year after leading BYU to its fifth conference title, but first since 2002. She finished third in the league in goals (4) and in points (8) in conference games. Willis earned MWC Defensive Player of Year honors after anchoring a BYU defense that allowed only one goal in seven conference games, while adding an assist in a win vs. UNLV. Calhoun was named the MWC Freshman of the Year after finishing third in the league in goals (4) and points (8). She led TCU to a third-place place, the team's best regular-season finish as a member of the MWC.
