FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team (4-16 overall, 3-8 in the MWC) fell in three sets (25-16, 25-17, 25-18) to the TCU Frogs (18-8 overall, 7-6 in the MWC) on Thursday night.
“We really struggled passing the ball tonight, which affected our offense,” said head coach Carrie Yerty. “We also seemed to give up a lot of free ball, which made it tough on the defense. Hopefully, we can move on from this and have a better showing against New Mexico.”
Wyoming was led by sophomore Lauren Whitney, who recorded 12 kills and two digs, while hitting .385 (12-2-26) for the match. Sophomore Dani Bedore followed with eight kills and seven digs, while senior Carissa Lee finished with 16 digs. The Cowgirls hit .149 (29-14-101) for the match and recorded four total team blocks.
The Frogs had two players finish in double-figures led by Kourtney Edwards. She recorded 13 kills, while hitting .478 (13-2-23). Christy Hudson added 10 kills and two total blocks while hitting .714 (10-0-14). Katelyn Blackwood recorded 15 digs. TCU hit .351 (48-9-111) for the match.
Wyoming will wrap up its road trip against the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday in Albuquerque. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
